Defined components
Components of the platform are defined. Some, like Journal, Issue and Article can contain other component, while others, like Reports (Comments) and Drafts, are only single objects containing test inline or in attached file.
Here's the list of important components:
Journal - a container for all other objects. It also contains journal settings bibliographical data. There are three different types of containers of articles within a journal:
a. Issue - regular issue
b. Special Issue - themed/special issue
c. Research Thread - continuously published articles when ready, 2-3 years long deadlines [ read more ]
1. Article - a container for a submission. It requires an abstract and a minimum of one Draft.
2. Draft - text type component. an article draft in the form of attached file.
3. Comment (internal editorial, editorial, referee) - text type. either inline text or an attached file.
4. Call for Papers (CFP) - mixed text and event type: CFP text plus start and end dates
5. Editors Meeting - event type. can contain Articles which can be downloaded as a single zipped archive.
6. State Portlet - contains latest submissions in given state
