Current Status

Why gcommons?
Before starting, we looked at several existing platforms. Open Journal System is one of them. It lacked flexibility to reconfigure workflows through which submitted text passes through. We choose Plone CMS as our development base because it supports workflows, transitions, easy addition of new content types, good security model, and because it enables fast development and fine-grained configuration of aspects that matter most to us.
